Well this is it

Hello everybody that reads this blog. It's been a so, so year for myself. I hope you have had a great year. Just being here is a good thing. I had some medical issues early this year and have gotten taken care of and so for seams to be going alright. I have to say thanks to the Doctors that were on my side.

Well this is the night that a lot people go out and party. With this being said ,I ask you to be careful if you should go out and celebrate the coming of the new year. Be safe not sorry, think about all your love one's that want to see you Friday morning For myself I will be in bed by nine anyway.

Well 2015 has be a good year for me on the fixing of the Carrie Michelle and the things that I have gotten done. I am ahead of what most people though that I would be. Today the last day of the year I got quite a bit of priming done and a small water leak repaired on the water system. So that was it for this year on the Carrie Michelle.

Where's the food
Great white Egrets forging for food after a good rain. These birds or very interesting to watch.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT   (  This is something to thing , There will never be peace until the \LOVE of POWER is replaced with POWER of LOVE,

God bless each and every one of you and may the start of the new year be joyful for you and yours. Until next year have a blessed on,

Do they think......

Well good morning to all. Well not much going on yet this morning. Just sitting here thinking, OH no! yes I am thinking again. Most of the time I get in trouble when I start to think cause it makes me mad to see what these high uppers do.

Well do they really think that we or dumb and do not look at things?

New jar
This is Kraft's new Miracle Whip jar. Now you say what is this about ? Well here is the rest of the story. I was looking at a magazine at the Dr's. office and ran across this add for Miracle Whip and this is what caught my eye. Look at the yellow sticker and it reads NEW JAR SAME SIZE, Now when we went to to the store I checked it out and the store sign said new jar same old price. Now here is what Kraft and the store forgot to tell you. The jar might be the same but the content went from 32 ounces to thirty ounces Now is that not misleading? It goes on every day but we the people do not stand up to them big companies.

Here is another one. My ins. carrier sent me a letter that my cost will stay the same for 2016 what a blessing that is, but here is the kicker. So I get my 2016 book in the mail and wow what a change there was. Just about everything has gone up but the monthly cost stayed the same. So I sometimes wonder if the big Cos. think were on the dumb side of life.

How close do you watch these kinda things?

No work today

Well good evening to all. Well there was no work on the Carrie Michelle today for I was gone all day and it rained all day too. Wesley and I took off this morning to go to Houston and that is where we have been most of the day. He had a few motor homes that he wanted to look at, being he can not drive yet due to cataracts I do the driving for him. It was a good day for him he saw what he wanted to see and then we headed back home. Oh we did stop and had a Whataburger on the way back.

As for me getting anything done it was a 0 day for working, but the evening is not over with yet so I might get something done yet. Well the rest of the week looks bad to with Wed 40%, Thru. 50%,  Fri is 50% rain, Sat. just shows rain, and Sun. call for 30% rain so this makes for a bad week working. But I do have a few things I can due on the inside thou.

Well I hope yall all have a great evening as I plan on having one. Until next posting have a great one,
Harold

Supper

What a great day it was

Nice sunrise this morning
Well good morning to all. hope your morning is going well as mine is ok this morning. Things or getting closer on the Carrie Michelle. Each day I get one or maybe two things done and soon they will be all done.

Yesterday was a great day on the job here. I finished hooking up the hot water heater and then last I had a long wait for HOT shower and it sure felt great too. The next thing I did was to finish piping in the water tank being I to take it out to remove the gas tank. Well the next thing was I got the galley sink faucet installed and my plans were to finish it up to day but my plans have been changed as of now.

My friend Wesley who owns the marina has ask me to take him to Houston so that is where we or off to this morning. We or going there to look at two motor homes. We will be back sometime this afternoon I hope. Other then that , that is about it for today.

Until next posting have a great day,
Harold

WOW! what wind

Well good morning to all. Boy, boy last night was a hell of night. We had gust up to fifty mph and being the Carrie Michelle is blocked up on a trailer she rock like we were in ten foot waves. now that the wind finished blowing from the north we are getting it from the west at gust up to twenty eight mph. So we can not win for losing. Oh well we still have to move on with this project.

Today I am going to try finish the hot water heater and finish up some wiring I hope. Anyway that is what the plan is.

Just a few lines here to let you know what is going on here. Until next posting have a great day,
Harold

No work this afternoon

Good afternoon to all that read this blog. Well no work this afternoon due to the rain and cold. It's not so much the cold it's the wind blowing thirty mph and that brings the chill factor into play. These boats have no insulation and they do get cold. I have two heaters going and it will keep it at around 68 to 70 degrees and that is about it. one of the main reason is you do not have the power to run big heaters cause the marinas do not have it either for you to run big heaters. So of the new one might have 50 amp service but most all the old ones do good to have a 30 amp service for you. Just have to dress for the cold or stay wrapped up in bed. LOL

Today has even been bad for the fishermen and the duck hunters too. The water is to rough and the wind the way it is ,the duck's do not fly at all. Well that is about all for today, hope tomorrow brings a better day so maybe we will get some things done.

Until next posting, have a great day,
Harold

Happy Birthday

Rose For You
Happy Birthday Christine, hope you have had a great day and have many more to come. I here yall have had lots of rain over there, we have had our share of wind here. Other then that just been working on the boat.

Again HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
Harold

It's in place

Well good morning to all, hope your morning is going OK as mine is doing very well. I did managed to get gas tank #2 back in its place before the rain came. The weather station said that the rain would hang around for about two hours, so that will be alright. Then after the rain stops I will get the water heater finished and then I will have HOT WATER. Them cold showers suck when it is cold.

Frist thing this morning I got up and went did some laundry so I would not have to get out in the cold the next two or three days.

Well this week has been very productive for me. I think I am a little ahead of the schedule for now. Least I hope I am. Well the next three days or going to be cold here in So. Texas like tonight it is suppose to get down to thirty-nine degrees tonight and that is cold coming off the water.  I know most of the states have been hot and this is going to throw off Mother Nature.

Well I guess this is it for now hope yall have a great day, until next posting,
Harold

Gas tank#2 and more

Well good evening to all. I hope you have had a great day as I have. Today was agood day at the boat even thou the wind has been blowing all day at around eighteen to gust fo thirty five. This has been a bad wind storm cause it has a lot of the sand blowing around.
Water heater installed
Well This one of my jobs that I got done today. It is installed in the basement in front of one of the water tanks. It is a little ten gallon heater and it is one hundred volts. This tank also has its on water supply too.
Shower head

Light in shower

Shower diverter valve
I also finished up the shower too. It is all piped in and is ready to use as soon as I finish up the water heater. I ran out of CPVC fittings so that stop the work on the water heater. Tomorrow I will make a trip to Lowes and get what I need to finish it up.

Gas tank #2
Well there is gas tank # 2 . It has two coats of fiber glass on all the seams and one coat on the rest of the tank and it also has two coats of Top Coat paint on it. Now it is ready to go back in its place. That will be a job for tomorrow if it does not rain.

So that is what all I got done today. Until next posting may you all be blessed,
Harold

T V

Well good morning to all of you that is following this blog. I hope each of you had a great Marry Christmas and all is well.

Yesterday was a good day here at the boat. I got the #2 gas tank striped of all it paint and all the ruff places filled with JB Weld. So today I will fiber glass it and if time is remaining I will paint it and that will complete that job.

Well I finely found the rite TV antenna that will work down here by the water. Wednesday I went to Wal Mart and got this antenna my son-in-law told me to get for my TV. I have already tried three and none of them worked so I decided  to try this one. Well yesterday I took it out of the box and what a goofy looking thing and they called this a TV antenna. So I proceeded to put it together and all the time I am thinking is this really going to work.  Well guess what, it does work and I picked up ten stations with it and they were all real clear too. Bottom line is my son-in-law knew what he was talking about. I guess I need to tell him so he can get the big head for a few minuets. LOL

Well it is almost time for me to get out side and start moving a bit, so I can get things done today. I on a time table being I know when Shirley will be here. Well until next posting y'all have a great day and may it be blessed one too,
Harold

PS
The antenna is a Clearstream 2V

Gas tank #2

Well I have finished gas tank #1 and got it all painted and it is back in place.

Japan container ship
This is an Japan container ship headed out to the gulf to parts of the unknown. He had left the Port of Corpus Christie. That is one little busy port too.

Tuesday Wesley and I went over to Port Aransas, he had to pick up something at the jewelry store and then we went over to Moby Dick's and had lunch. We both had a chesses stake sandwich and it was sure good too. So that was a no work day for me on the Carrie Michelle, oh well, maybe I needed a day off. (LOL)
Ferries that take you to P A
This is one of the farriers that take you back and forth to Port Aransas. It is a short trip of about ten min. at the most. It can be fun when the water is rough and they do not shut them down very often either. If you have to go around from I live it is about a two hour drive, so that is why they very seldom shut them down.
Off shore drilling rig
This is an off shore drilling rig that is in dry dock for repairs. This thing is huge too, it is hard to believe how big it is. From the road it looks like a hotel for living quarters too, I mean this thing is really huge. They say that it has been in for repairs for about a year.

White pelicans
These bird where at a fish cleaning station waiting for a free hand out. Evidently they get there share of fish  cause they all look fat. They do not have fly all day looking for there food so they or pretty plumped. So that is why they hang around here.
This is Henry
Now this is Henry, I think is  the boss at the fish cleaning station too. He is not afraid of you at all, he will set rite there and take all the pictures you want. Then he will look at you and want to know where his fish is. ( LOL ) But it is a sight to watch him and the way he controls the rest of the flock too.
Gas tank #2
Well this gas tank two and there was no holes in it. The only thing was I had to remove the deck to get it out, and what a job that was like four or five hours it took. Today I will grid it down and fiber glass it and get it ready to go back in it's hole ,then move on to another project. The job will be putting the deck back in it place, but that's ok knowing that the tank is alright and no leaks. I do not need the Coast Guard down on me for a gas leak at all. So this will be the job for the next two or three days, cause after it is fiber glassed it has to be painted with two coats.
Henry
Well Henry and I say Marry Christmas to all of you and until next posting have a great and blessed day,
Harold

Marry Christmas

Well good morning to all and a very Marry Christmas to you and yours. I know it does not seem like Christmas in a lot of parts of the US. Like here I woke to to seventy three degrees and supper foggy. I hope each of you have a blessed day and enjoy it with who ever your with.

As we go thru the day just think what Christmas really means to you. As we sit around the table to the Christmas feast , if you would pray for the men and woman that or in harms way and the one that have gave their lives so you and I could do the things that we want to do. You know we have so much to be thankful for we sometimes forget how we or able to do all the things that we do.

Christmas is not about receiving it is about giving. If you look what God did you will understand He gave his one and only son to us for our sins. Would you have done that ?

Again hope you y"all have a Marry Christmas,
Harold

Ready to be painted

Well good afternoon and I hope all is well with you today. All is well here and I had a great day too. I got the right hand gas tank all fiber glassed in and pressure tested and so for no leaks. Tomorrow I will pull the left hand side and check it for holes if all is OK I will grind it down and glass it and then get it ready to be painted too.

I also worked on the basement lighting and wiring this afternoon. I am trying to finish it up too and that will be one less thing to do. So tomorrow it will be a busy day for me as time is running down before Shirley gets here.

Fireman's cap
This is one of the beautiful tree flowering in So. Texas. This flower is shaped exactly like a fireman's hat. There is not much smell, just a lot of color.

Mexican Gardena
This tree is in my mothers home place in the Valley of So.Texas. It has a lovely smell when it is in bloom.

Ft Sam Houston
This is in honor of the men and woman that have gave the ultimo choice and or laid to rest here in Ft. Sam Houston.

The next time you see a policeman or a armed force person , just shake there hand and tell them thank you for what you have done for us.

Well that is it for tonight have a blessed one,
Harold

Gas Tank

Well good evening to all. Well I did get some heavy glass on the gas tank this afternoon. I did one side and half of the bottom and I will let it cure overnight so I can sand it tomorrow. I used what is call woven /roven and what it is ,it is a mat with 4oz. glass woven into it and it makes for a strong lay. So tomorrow I will try and finish it up so I can go to the next tank and check it out. So that is it on the tank.

White Pelicans

What did you say ?
This afternoon I went out and took some pictures of the white pelicans, and what a pretty bird. They do not come over where I am staying, they or on the other side of town. We have the gray and white heads and some times a brown or two. We also have a lot of the pink spoonbills here too. I looked thru my picture's but I guess I have not taken any pictures of them, but I will as soon as I see some.

The end of another day

Well this is about it for tonight so I hope all have a great evening and may you be blessed,
Harold

What a beautiful

What a beautiful morning to wake up to.
What a sun rise
This is what I woke up to this morning and was it a beautiful site. It had about four or five colors in the sun rise. it sure makes you feel great when you see something like that in the morning. That is one of the best ways to start our day off if you as me. I see them almost every morning , some or a lot better then others. Also we have some beautiful sun sets too.
Gas tank
This is the gas tank that has a hole in it. I spent most of the morning sanding and prepping it so I could fiber glass it. You can see two of the patches here, it is the white spaces on the tank. Hopefully it will work cause I dread the thought of spending seven hundred dollars for a new gas tank. So that is what I have been doing most of the day. I have just finish my lunch and now I am going to go and work on the basement lites and try to get them finished up.

So until next posting have a great day,
Harold

Two more completed

Well good evening to all. Hope every one is doing good and have had a great day. I am just moving rite along with this project.

Today I got my motor all cleaned out so my sister and her husband could look at it and maybe buy it, but no such luck. That is one of the bad deals working with your family sooner or later it will come to bite you rite where it hurts to. Well that is alright too cause there is someone out there that will want it.

Well back to the boat got my aft light wired and hooked up and now I am thru with that item. I got the one gas tank repaired today and will glass it tomorrow if all goes well. I also started in stalling the basement lights and running the wires for them too. I also got my radar too and I am trying to figure out where to mount it. The tent thing I need to do is run the electrical for all the electronics. Well that is about it for this post so have a great evening,
Harold

Time is getting closer

Hello there followers of this blog. Today is one day closer to Shirley getting here and for us leaving on the Carrie Michelle going down the ICWWA and parts unknown to us. Things or looking up and getting closer to being done getting her ready.

Today was a good day and got a few things done and completed too.

Bilge pumps thermal feed.
This is where all the bilge pumps come to get there power from. this is an hundred amp thermal bar to supply all the bilge pumps ( 7 ) in all. There or four on auto switches , one of the auto pump also has a manual over ride switch, and there or three on manual switches. The manual pumps or just in case the auto one's can not keep up , we can start using the manual ones. That is how that works.
Pressurized water pump
This is the water pump that feeds the head ( bath room ). it is automatic and shuts off at 40 psi. There is  another one just like for the galley and outdoor shower. The reason I am using two is ,because if one goes out I can always tie the lines together. There also or two water tanks too.
This is at the end of the day
Well this is the end of a great day. It has been a very good for me and I hope y'all had a great day too. Until next posting have a great evening and a blessed one too.
Harold

Yesterday was a good and bad day here

What a day it has been here at the boat. First of all I hope all my followers have had a great day. Things started out great here and as the day went by it got  crappy here. What made it so bad was,
Gas tank
You are looking at it. There was a hole in the left gas tank. It is about the size of an pencil eraser. I am sure glad I pulled it out to look at it. That sure would have been a mess to start filling it up and gas started running every where. Then the Coast Guard would been involved and a high dollar clean up too. Oh well it is done and over with, just get it repaired and go on to the next project.

Well on the flip side of it Santa came yesterday, he delivered me a fantastic care package with all that sweet stuff in it.

Care package
This is what Shirley sent to me as a care package and what a care package it was, loaded with a lot of candy, cookies, pop corn, and pretzels. Just all the diet material that they put in the three containers. LOL So with that being said my day ended in a good note.

Sun rise this morning

What a beautiful sun raise this morning. This is what we wake up to most of the time rite here on the water. You know it is amazing the pictures that God paints for you to look at. He is always looking out to brighten our days as He paints these pictures and tries to tell us something with them. Just open your eyes and ears and you will see and hear what He is telling us.

Well it is getting that time ,so I guess I will close for now. I hope each and every one that reads this blog has a great and wonderful day,
Harold

Hang on to your

That's rite, hang on to what ever you have on your head this morning here in So. Texas. This is how it went down, at 5:00 a it was 71 degrees ,foggy, and calm. At 5:35 the north wind came in with force and dropped the temperature to 63 degrees in just thirty minuets. That is a chilling little front that has blew in. What a difference today is from yesterday, yesterday I just had my shorts on and no shirt due to it was 77 yesterday and today they said it will be in the fifty's
, what a difference that is. Now, they wonder why people always have colds. One thing Wal-Mart, Walgreen's, and CVC like it so they sell all that cold meds. LOL

As for the Carrie Michelle , we or moving rite along and I do believe we are ahead of the game too. I am hoping to be on the water the last of March or the first of April. That is what we or shooting for any way.

Well here is some good news. My sister called me Monday night and said she was bring me three , three hundred and forty watt solar panels. We have been waiting on them for a little while, the engineers have been so tied up that they did not have time for mine. That was OK because I get mine at a cut price.

Choco
This is Choco the harbor watch dog ( LOL ) or the neighbor hood pet. Yes he goes from boat to boat to see what is on the menu for today LOL. He is a good little dog though and is very playful too. He probably walks ten miles a day too.

The end of a long day
Well for today I think I will do some sanding and put some primer on the wood work. Oh ! I do believe I am thru on the inside as for as the electrical goes.

Until next posting have a great day and may you be blessed,
Harold

Two great days

Well good evening to all that has been keeping with the Carrie Michelle. Things have good the past couple of days here. I have got just one bunch of electrical done these past couple of days. Along a few other things too.

On the fly bridge I am almost thru with it, just need two lights for the flag pole and wire them up. I did get the flag pole all changed around and it is ready to go as soon as I get the lights.

I got all the salon lights installed and wire in with switches. I also got some walk way lights installed and they or also wired up too.

Well that is about it for tonight,as I am tired and ready to go to bed, have a great eveing,
Harold

Well a new week

well good morning to all. A new work week has begun today. Things or looking good so for. I have a lot planed for this week, now let me see if I can get it done.

The first thing is to work on the out side and get as much done as I can, due to the rain and cold weather coming in. I still have some electrical to do on the fly bridge, some sealing of some seams, and cleaning up, that will take of the fly bridge until we hang the motors. After hanging the motors we will need to hook up the controls and shift cables up there.

Down below in the basement I still have bilge pumps to pipe and hook up and run the wiring for basement lights That will do it for this week I do believe.

My kids
These or my kids. This was taken at my birthday party. We had a great old crab boil with all the trimmings. From left to right  son-in- law Ricky, My youngest Amanda, son-in-law Victor with Abby, Carrie, Brandon ,and  Tori. That is my family. You talk about a good crab boil it was. Every thing was fresh, I had brought it in from So. Texas with me.

Christmas lights
These or the lights that put on the Carrie Michelle.

After a long day
These boats or at rest after a long day on the water. Some went out and some stayed in for the day. Now the sun is going down they will stand at rest for the night.
Palm trees
These beautiful trees or viewing the sunset thru there eyes after a long day.
The end of a long day

Well until next posting have a great day,
Harold

What a night

Well good morning to all. Well it has been a real riff nigh here INS. Texas with the wind blowing at Gail forces. The wind has blown from the south for three daysat 25 to 30 mph and around midnight this morning it turned around. and came back from the north at 25 to thirty mph. It is so bad that the NEWSherre has issue warnings and to watch for flying objects. Now that is some bad weather folks.

With the wind blowing like this I don't think there will be much going on outside today in this wind. So today I think that I will be working on the shore power and doing a little more wiring on some other things. Instill need to get some bilge pumps hooked up and thrust the hull fittings installed too. So that looks like what will be going on here today as for as now but it could change at any time.

Well until next posting have a great day and may you be blessed ,
Harold

Good day at the boat

Well good evening folks. Just a short note here to show pictures of the things that I have installed.
New lights for the salon

Safety light at entrance

Guard rail on Flt bridge
That is what been going today. Other then that it was quite here and the wind blew all day. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see what I will do, cause it is suppose to rain and that will change my plans on what I will do. Until next posting have a great one,
Harold

What a hell of a night

Well good morning to all. What a night it was here at the harbor! The wind blew most of the night at gale force it hit 40 mph a few times and was blowing things around over at the boat yard. Could not sleep for all the noise things that blow around were making. That made it for a long night too.

Well enough of that. I stayed up later then normal for me and got a little work done on the boat. I got the shore electrical panel installed and today I will wire it up and then there will be shore power on the Carrie Michelle. When that get done , then I can do away with the ext. cords and that makes for a leister tripping hazard.

So for today it will be getting shore power to the boat and that will take the biggest part of the day too. Oh, I did get the galley sink hooked up and the salon lights installed last night.

What a boat
This is a pirate boat at one of the marinas around here. They do have it decked out pretty neat too. There are three of them in that marina and they all look neat.

Sunset
This is a sun set across the harbor and that is the end of a long day. So until next posting have a great and blessed day,
Harold

Good evening to all

Sorry that I have not posted these past couple of days. Things have been a little crazy here. things or back on track now at least I hope anyway.
Just playing around

Neat little sightseeing boat

Shot across the harbor
This is one cute little boat ,the guy that owns it takes out sightseeing people. He makes about three to four trips a day out of the harbor. His trip is to look at the dolphins and the whooping cranes and that is about a two hour trip I believe.

Well here on the Carrie Michele all is well. I have put some Christmas lights on her and tried to get her into the sprit. LOL I have got new interior lights and some new flood lights for her. I have been working on that for the past two days and I am just about there too.

Well today Wesley and I moved her back about twelve feet so it would be blocked from the north wind. Not many boats that I know of are very well insulated and they will get cold too. So every little bit helps.

Barge on the move
This is a barge fuel of fuel head out. They have been filling it most of the day. I do not know how many gallons they loaded on her but when she left she was drawing seven feet.

Well I guess I need to get up from here and do a little work being it might rain tomorrow. Until next posting have a great evening,
Harold
